I'm showing off my Kim Hughes stamps...

I wanted to spread some love and share my creations I used Kim Hughes stamps on. They aren't really called "Kim Hughes Stamps" - they are from Cornish Heritage Farms, but they are the "Kim Hughes" collection so I just call them Kim Hughes stamps. Anyway - they are soooo adorable and versatile. Since I'm spreading the love, I kept to the theme and made LOVE-ish cards. The "i love you" stamp is from the set "Tag! You're It!" and the cute swirly hearts and birds are from you guessed it! the "Cute Curls" set. I used Prismacolor colored pencils to shade the images.

So.... spread the love and get those Valentine cards made! Have a wonderful day.

Love, love and more love

You'll probably be hearing a bit about love for the next few weeks. February is a busy month for us - besides everyone's favorite chocolate celebration day AKA Valentine's day, we also celebrate a few birthdays in our family and my wedding anniversary (well, only 1 birthday in the immediate family - the others are cousins). But still - what a LOVE-ly month. sorry for the pun, couldn't resist.

The February issue of Paper Crafts Magazine is full of beautiful romantic Valentine's Day cards. Here is a card of mine included in this issue. The papers are from Dream Street Papers "Delight" collection.

Speaking of Dream Street - staring Monday - there will be a new CHA sneak peek on the blog. Here's the
Dream Street Blog. Don't forget to check it daily. You won't want to miss ANY of these ten - yes - ten - collections. Oh - and if that isn't enough - they are double sided!! that's double the fun!

Well - I just made chocolate cupcakes. My little one put pink and white sprinkles on them. We're taking them to school tomorrow to spread a little love. Check back here in the next few days. I have some of Kim Hughes' LOVE-ly stamps from Cornish Heritage Farms and I'm going to post a few things using them. Bye for now!

Good Mail Days

I love fun mail days! If you have been waiting for Flair Designs' New Amazing Grace collection to ship, I can tell you that its probably hitting the stores as I type this well, not at 10pm at night but you know what I mean. I got the hot-off-the-press papers today along with another box - the January kit from Simply Cardstock. I'd just love to stay up all night and play with such awesome goodies, but I do need my sleep.

How about a peek at some of the creations I made with the January Self-Addressed Kit! This kit contains the Collage Press Grayson Hall line and its absolutely scrumptious.

I'm off to finish up a few things and get my beauty rest so I'll be fresh and awake for the grand opening of my friend Cindy's new online store - Emma's Paperie! It opens Friday, January 25 - that's just in a few hours!

I just called to say....

I love you...
I was at a ladies meeting earlier this week and one lady's phone rang and this was her ring-tone. I couldn't help but sing along - but in a not so flattering way. tee hee
Well...now you will have that song going thru your head today.

Speaking of love - it's never to early to work on those Valentine cards. These are some of my recent card projects I made for Creative Xpress. I used the Cricut, Cuttlebug and Basic Grey papers.

Hey - if you are reading this, please see if the comment feature worked. I have had several of you say you couldn't leave a comment - so I edited the permissions so that people who at least have some sort of blog other than blogger, can leave a comment. I'm wondering if it worked right. If not - then I may have to just open it up completely. thanks.

This is dedicated to the one I love

I haven't posted anything about my silly dog, Jasmine, in awhile. Imagine that. She's the family sweetheart. She's the inspiration to my "Jazz Dog" paintings that are in Mimi's Cafe. My silly little dachshund.

She's six months younger than my daughter. Yeah, that means that I had to chase a puppy and a crawling baby at the same time. Jasmine loved going in the nursery and playing with Arielle when they were babies. Jazzy used to steal her sister's pacifiers when they fell to the floor. She destroyed them faster than I could say "no". In fact, to this day - I think the word "NO!" scares her because of the pacy indidents. She would insist on being inside the bathtub next to the "baby tub" as Arielle took her bath. Jazzy liked to drink the warm bathwater. She still likes to drink warm water.

This page is a "jazzy" page, and to celebrate her jazziness - I used alot of bling. My Mind's eye bling stickers and silver sequins. The papers are Unique Boutique from Dream Street Papers.I used a Becky Fleck Page Maps Sketch from December. Simply put - She's So Jazzy.

What's Cooking?

Well - this is about real food - real cooking. Scrapbookers have to eat, right? And we all know that home cooked food tastes the best. What about a recipe book from a scrapbooker? Even better. Check out Heather White's blog to learn about a cookbook she has in the works, and get your name on the list. Think about it - you can buy your Christmas gifts early this year (something I strive to do every year and still never do). Cookbooks - they are the gifts that keep on giving.

I'm trying to get back in the swing of things around here. I still have some paintings to finish up and some paper creations as well as paper work to get done. It's another late night for me.

Here's a peek at a few new things.

The first card was made using most of the supplies from Scarlet Lime's October kit. The next is a card using SEI's Madera Island.

My New Love

Birds.
Okay - well, I've always loved them. But I've never really done anything in my yard to attract them. I added the yellow feeder to the attractions yesterday - filled with thistle and woke up this morning to find...

Have a tweet day!

It's Girl Scout Cookie Time

Well - for orders anyway. I just got a flyer from one of my neighbors. I'm so excited. And 2 new cookies - one is sugar free! Yeah - I caved and ordered several boxes. Shhhhhh - don't tell my hubby. He never reads my blog anyway. But I hope he orders some at work - that way I'll have my own stash. tee hee. Tell me what your favorite are and if you've ordered yet. Gosh - I hope I can wait until next month to get them. (smile)

Have you seen the new look at Self-Addressed? My, my - you must check it out. I should be receiving the newest kit any day now and I can't wait. Meanwhile, here are a few things I created with the December kit using luscious lovely Chatterbox papers.

Good Mail Days

You know what I'm talking about..... good mail days. The days where you just get "good stuff" in the mail. I've actually had a good mail week - especially the last 2 days. I guess the holiday chaos is over and things are going to settle down. Yesterday started with a surprise belated Christmas gift - I can't tell you details, but it was a one month subscription to Simply Cardstock. If you haven't seen the January cardstock - be sure to hurry. A couple of e-mails came through that I can't share yet - but in addition, I got a request for several projects - all things I submitted at the last minute.

Well - today I got my copy of the February Pinecone Press book. My friend Cindy Smith wrote this book, and if you know Cindy - you know you will want this book. And in case you haven't heard - Cindy will be opening a new online store in exactly 2 weeks. It's called Emma's Paperie and, as I said before - if you know Cindy - you know it will be fabulous.

Here are a couple of pages of mine that are in the new Pinecone Book "Be Mine". The first page was made with mostly Scarlet Lime kit contents (I think it was the October kit).

The next page is a photo of my friend's daughter - Senior Prom night. I just love her dress! The papers are from Dream Street and the stamps on the journaling block are from Inque Boutique.

Well - Happy Friday everyone. I'm off to a crop for the evening.

Fa la la la la....

La la la la.....
Tis the season to be jolly..

(insert sound of halting record needle here)

Oh well - I can't help it. Have Christmas paper - will create!

Here are a few things I made with Flair Designs' new "Holly Jolly" and "Rejoice" papers. The stamp on the tree is from
Inque Boutique.

......

....
One more Christmas creation. This is a photo from last year using
Dream Street Papers' Gracie line. The sketch is one of Becky Fleck's Page Maps sketch. Cardstock is Prism Papers.

And guess what.... The Christmas decorations are down!
Have a great day!

Karen Wheaton and Chosen

We had a busy weekend. Our church held The Ramp, with Karen Wheaton and Chosen. Click here for Karen's Website. Anyway there were oodles of teens from all surrounding states. It's nice to have incredible youth events come to our area. If you have teens, check out the links and see when the next events are going to be in your area.

Here are a few of the pics from the event. It was really awesome.

How about a chance to win...

a Nikon Coolpix Digital camera???

I rarely, if ever, do giveaways here. Maybe that will be something new I'll do in 2008. Anyway - I'm not giving this away - but I found a website that is - and well, you never know unless you enter, right?

Here's the link... and good luck!
Win A Nikon Contest

Well, temps are up in Louisiana and the old A/C has been cranked up...but my mother-in-law is visiting family in snow covered southern Colorado this week, so I thought I'd share a couple "snowy" cards made with Paper Salon's "Snowday" collection.

Keep warm!

New Year Confessions

Well.... I confessed this on one of the message boards. It was a legitimate question. And I gave a truly honest answer. Would you like to play?

Question:

What if any Christmas decorations do you still have up in your house.

Answer: (warning - this is not for those that faint easily...)

The only thing that is NOT in the house from christmas is
1)presents
2) Candy

I haven't had time to do one thing. The whole shabang is up. Do you want a list?
Outside:
-lights
-wreaths on windows
-wreath on door

inside:
-tree and all the trimmings (including the brand new tree skirt I got 12/26/2007 at the after christmas sale) plus the old tree skirt sitting on table
-lighted houses
-sofa table filled to the brim with all the Christmas what nots collected over the years
-christmas card
-mantel stuff - candles, holly, shephards harp
-House of Lloyd/Christmas Around the world stuff
-coffee table centerpiece, nutcracker,
-santa hats (that my dd keeps dragging around)
-kitchen table (table runner, candle set)

Bedroom:
-wrapping paper boxes, wrapping paper, bows, tags

Garage
-brand new pre-lit Christmas tree still in box bought 12/26/2007

Anyone want to come over for a party? I'll plug in the village houses.

Okay - okay - so you are going when is this woman going to clean up?... well - either this weekend, or Monday when school starts back. Ya know - I'd sort of WANT to know where the decorations go this year so I won't worry that breakables were just thrown in the box (not naming names).

Meanwhile - I have to quote Scarlett again.
I'll think about that tomorrow. Tomorrow's another day.
