One of my favorite projects

This is one of my favorite projects of the week - it's a little herb garden tool caddy. I picked this up at Hobby Lobby - already painted and distressed. It was sooo easy to make. I used the new Herb Garden paper from Flair Designs. I'm ready to go to the nursery and pick up some herbs, fresh dirt for the beds and get busy planting.

And I have to wish my dear friend, Cindy Smith a Happy Birthday!! Enjoy your day, Cindy!

Earth Friendly Projects - a bit late

Well, Earth Day was a week ago, so I'm a bit late, but I have some projects made with Earth Friendly products. Piggy Tales recently introduced their earth friendly scrapbook collections at CHA Winter 2008. They have become the first major scrapbooking manufacturer to print its entire collection of scrapbook paper on recycled paper. The the ink is organic-based. How fun is that.

Here are a couple of projects I made using the new products. The first one uses "The Ballad of Mulan".

This page uses "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star"

And the little Powder Room sign at the top uses the Cinderalla collection. The actual sign is a sliding door. The door slides to read "in use".

As always, I hope you have a wonderful Monday!

Monday Peeks

Nothing much to share today. I guess I need to get busy, huh? How about a peek at what I created last week with the April Self-Addressed Card Kit. It uses luscious Jenni Bowlin papers and embellishments. It's a fun kit.

Have a wonderful week! I'll be back with some more projects later this week.

Just for the Weenie Dog

I did it just for the weenie dog. I bought a stamp set just because it had a cute weenie dog on it. It's not the focal of the image, but nevertheless I caved. I found this cute stamp at Emma's Paperie (thanks, Cindy). They are by My Favorite Things. Come on, admit it - you have bought something just because it had a cute ____(I know you can fill in this blank) on it. Leave a comment and let me know what one of your similar indulgences has been. It doesn't have to be scrap related. I'd love to know I'm not alone in this. Even though I know I'm not.

The papers are Fancy Pants. I stamped on the patterned papers and cut the images (dress and doggie shirt) and adhered them, colored in other places with Prismacolor pencils, and used stickles and Stardust glitter pen for some bling. Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.
P.S. Don't forget the card challenge (see yesterday's post).

Another Card Challenge!

I love doing card challenges. Melissa Phillips posted another fun one on the Pursuit of CraftYness Blog. Use the sketch posted by Teri on here blog HERE. You can either link your creations here, or on the Pursuit of CraftYness Blog. You can read more about this challenge at Split Coast Stampers.

About my card - I used Crafty Secrets vintage images (label and sheet music), papers from Dream Street, Making Memories felt, button and flowers and Hampton Art / Marah Johnson stamps.

Have a great day! Hope you can create something for this challenge. I'd LOVE to see.

My Card Challenge Creation

Not much happening here today. It's Monday...monday and gosh - for some of you the tax day countdown is upon you. Glad ours is already done.

I just stopped in to post the card I did for Melissa's challenge. We had to use red, black, cream and green, non-Christmas, use trim, and make your own flowers. Yes, I made that "flower" with my yo-yo template. I'll be doing a how-to on those soon. The stamp is from Hampton Art / Marah Johnson. The notecard is from Jenni Bowlin and the papers are from Collage Press.

I'm off to get a good night's sleep. Its been a long day.

Some fun things!

After hearing the sad American Idol results new tonight (still in shock) I decided to counter-act the sadness with HAPPY thoughts. A girl can try, right?

My first "happy" moment was when my dog barked at the mail delivery person. That bark signaled the arrival of my special delivery from Emma's Paperie. I love the way Cindy wraps the contents in beautiful tissue paper, ties it in a string, and attached a little flower thank-you tag to it. I just did NOT want to open it, except I knew what was in the paper, and wanted it even more. Curious? Well, most of it was from the new arrival section of her store. I'm taking it all to my crop tomorrow night.

My second happy thing is a baby card. I used the negative of the little duck shape on the Cricut New Arrivals cartridge, and backed it with patterned paper. It's one of my favorites of the week. The papers are from Adorn-it and American Crafts.

And the next happy thing... well, I can't quite spill all the beans right now, but you will see something soon HERE! Check back on Friday!

Meanwhile, have a wonderfully "happy" (okay, are you sick of hearing that word right now?) weekend!

Project for Today

Happy Hump Day. My little one wants me to come and eat lunch with her today. The only thing about that is they have lunch at 10:30! Yes - 10:30. no wonder at 11pm on Saturday she's starving. So... I'll be heading up there to visit with her.

Speaking of my little one at school - I just got around to scrapping the photo I took when she met her new teacher. I used my March Scarlet Lime Kit and Inque Boutique stamps. The kit colors were perfect for this photo.

The little fabric flower was included in the kit and is from an Etsy Shop called Yo-Yo Cottage. I just love these fabric flowers. I recently picked up a template for making Yo-Yo-s (a bit different than what is in the photo) and I'll be posting some of them soon.

Have a great day!

Cards for Special People

Parents, friends, siblings, grandparents, son, daughter... there are so many special people in our lives that they all deserve a card made "just for them". Here are a few cards that I made for special people.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Ever have one of those days? This photo card says it all. This is my adorable great-nephew having one of those "by brother did it" moments. This card and many other great projects incorporating photos is in the new Papercrafting With Photos from the creators of Papercrafts Magazine.
Do you need a challenge? Create a card for a special person. I'd love to see them, so link them here. Have a great Monday!
Rainy, rainy friday
It's a rainy, rainy Friday here. Makes me want to crawl in the bed for a long snooze. But instead, I made a few cards using the new Piggy Tales CHA Winter 08 releases.
The first card uses the Cinderella collection papers and rub on.
The baby boy card uses Piggy Tales "The Steadfast Tin Soldier" train paper and ribbon plus "Hansel" paper. This card is also a card I did for Melissa Phillip's Card Challenge. The challenge was to use chipboard, deco scissors and stamps. Thanks for the challenge, Melissa!
And the Happy Birthday goes to...
The Happy Birthdays go to Anabelle! I can't believe you are 29!!!
Have a wonderful, wonderful birthday, my friend!
