Something for the Weekend

How about something for the weekend? Summer days bring lazy days of sitting by the pool, lounging around, and maybe even FISHING!!!!! My little one went fishing at my friend's land during spring break. The fish were biting as soon as the bait hit the water. What a lucky day! I used Dream Street Paper's "Forever Family" line for this page as well Dream Street chipboard letters and coordinating rub ons. See, you can use pink paper for anything!

Miss Priss has a ballet recital this weekend, so I predict some dance layouts coming soon! Have a great weekend.

School's Out!!

School's out! My daughter was actually very sad on her last day because she really LOVES her teacher, but she's excited to know she'll see her for a summer camp session next month.

I recently worked with Imaginesce's "Teacher's Pet" collection for the Pursuit of Craftyness Blog, and was happy to have gotten some school pages done for my daughter's book.

Thanks for stopping by!

Ready for the Weekend!

Happy Friday and I hope everyone has a great 'long' weekend ahead. Rain is in the forecast here, so I'm getting my son up and at 'em with the hard because, well, it's very tall and I can just imagine another 2 inches in 3 days. LOL.

It's been a busy scrappy week, but I can't quite share anything yet. I'll have lots to post in the next week or two. Here's a couple of cards I made using some My Mind's Eye Maggie May and my Cricut and Cuttlebug.

And last but not least - here's a sneak peek of what I made with the June CupCardsToGo Kit! You won't want to miss this kit!

Have a wonderful Memorial Day Weekend!

For the Birds

I love feeding the birds. I love seeing gold finches and cardinals on my porch and around my yard. I wish I was a better gardener so they would have a beautiful place to perch. Maybe one day I will acquire that green thumb.

Meanwhile - I wanted to share a little bird-inspired project I made using Dream Street's Lullaby collection. I used Doodlebug glitter on the chipboard board (from Paper Salon) and lots of buttons and rick rack.

Have a wonderful day and thanks for stopping by!

Just a little something

Just a little card...

This uses Dream Street and a My Minds Eye. The butterfly was cut from the Cricut using Indie Art, then coated with Doodlebug sugary glitter. The die cut and ribbon is from SEI. Sent this one of my friends (a little lumpy, hope it survived the mail processing).

Have a great day!

If Friends Were Flowers

I needed some cards to send to some girlfriends, so I used an older Paper Salon stamp set and played with variations of a basic card design.

This uses papers and stickers from Basic Grey.

Papers and rub on from Piggy Tales. This flower rub on is so thick and shiny - it's awesome! It looks heat embossed and it's a RUB ON!

The last two cards are also Piggy Tales papers and chipboard along with the Cuttlebug embossing folder.

That's all for today! Have a great day!

Vintage, Tattered and colorful

My April assignment for Creative Xpress was to use Tattered Angels' Glimmer Mists in conjunction with Cricut or Cuttlebug creations. I had so much fun doing this. I cut the shapes and titles from cardstock, and used Glimmer Mist sprays on them.

I used papers from My Minds Eye's Bellezo collection, along with the Graphically Speaking cricut carts, the Vintage Die Set (photocorners) and Butterflies Cut & Emboss Set by Cuttlebug and Glimmer Mists (Wheatfield and Candy Apple Red).

For the cards, I cut the flowers from the Home Accents and Wild Card Cricut cartridge. The papers are Bloom from My Minds Eye (I just LOVE the colors in this collection). The background was embossed with the Cuttlebug and the Floral Fantasy Embossing Folder.

You can see the tutorials for these projects here on the CX Blog

Girlfriends and other things

I have often been quoting the character George from the Seinfeld sitcom in saying "My worlds are colliding!". I've been the coordinator for our high school reunion, and for the past two months have been reconnecting with old friends - and it's been so much fun. (now you know why my blog has been suffering) My school was in a small town and most of the classmates attended school for 13 years together. That is such a contrast to the schools that my kids are attending. The schools are so big and there is no way for them to know all their classmates. I have come to appreciate that quality of our school and I believe my classmates feel the same way. Well, one of my best friends in school moved after our 9th grade. The last time I saw her was right after graduation, and we did keep in touch until the past 15 years or so. When I started finding people, her name was brought up and with one phone call, I had her cell number. I left a message telling her it was someone from her old hometown and she would have to guess who. She called me back and I sang a song that she used to sing at the church meetings I attended with her. We laughed and laughed and reconnected on facebook. She was so excited that we would be having a reunion, that she flew in for our most recent planning meeting. Fellow crafters - meet Sandra.

It's funny that after years and years apart, she is just as I remember her, and even better. And yes, I will scrap this and many other photos like this. Believe me, there are so many with more to come. If you have someone in your past that you have lost contact with, I urge you to reconnect. You won't be sorry.

Here's a happy bunch at the recent meeting - and remember - this isn't even the reunion.

And on to paper crafting.. (like I said, my worlds are colliding!)... here are some more cards I made with the May "Painted Lady" Cupcardstogo Card Kit.
