Vintage, Tattered and colorful

My April assignment for Creative Xpress was to use Tattered Angels' Glimmer Mists in conjunction with Cricut or Cuttlebug creations. I had so much fun doing this. I cut the shapes and titles from cardstock, and used Glimmer Mist sprays on them.

I used papers from My Minds Eye's Bellezo collection, along with the Graphically Speaking cricut carts, the Vintage Die Set (photocorners) and Butterflies Cut & Emboss Set by Cuttlebug and Glimmer Mists (Wheatfield and Candy Apple Red).

For the cards, I cut the flowers from the Home Accents and Wild Card Cricut cartridge. The papers are Bloom from My Minds Eye (I just LOVE the colors in this collection). The background was embossed with the Cuttlebug and the Floral Fantasy Embossing Folder.

Some Friday Goodies

Not only is it Friday, it's the first day of August. It feels like it, too. We are expecting 101 degree temps today - and no sign of rain. The poor grass here is so brown, despite my attempts to keep it watered. Me and hubby have been doing movie date nights on Fridays - so that's another reason I like Fridays. What do you like about Friday??

So here are a few things I made recently. The first is a card I made using Webster's Pages papers. They have a monthly challenge on their Inspire Me website, and this is the card I made for the July challenge.

Check out the blog at Emma's Paperie today. The Design Team was challenged to create some things using a stationery gift box. The projects are amazing. I got to play along with them for July, so here's my shadow box I made with the stationery box. The papers are Sassafrass Lass and Graphic 45. See the blog for the complete supply list.

And last, this was a fun little challenge I gave myself. I recently bought some Cuttlebug die cut and embossing folder combo sets. I wanted to use them, so to make it interesting, I challenged myself to limit my supplies. I only used 2 different colors of cardstock. The teal has a white core and I sanded it. The three cards are all made using the "With Gratitude" set. The 4th card uses the "Argyle" embossing folder.

Have a wonderful weekend and I hope you stay cool.
