Holiday Shopping is....

.....Fun? (maybe, if the lines weren't so long)
..... Stressful?(only if you can't find the item that is on the list given to you)
.....Crowded? (oh yeah...especially if you go when people are off work...like today).

Seriously - I just needed a couple of things and some sweet potatoes. Came home with more than a couple of things - and no sweet potatoes. Wal..mart..was..out..of..sweet..potatoes.

Speaking of holiday shopping - why not just stay home in your PJ's and slippers and order online. Especially crafty things. I just recently became a Stampin Up! demonstrator! And just in time for the Stampin Up! Holiday Extravaganza Sale - and I mean it's one doozie of a sale. It' starts today and runs thru Dec. 2, but don't wait b/c once the items are gone... that's it.

Have you seen Holly Tree? Holly Tree is the December 08 CupCardsToGo Card Kit. It's just been released and jammed pack with goodies. Some of the many manufactures in this kit include Pink Paislee, Melissa Frances and Dream Street. Oh and, get this.. the has g-g-g-g-glitter!!! I'm so excited now that I can share some of the cards I made with the kit here on my blog...just in time for the holiday season.

I have done something that I never, ever thought I would do. I have a Christmas tree in my house before Thanksgiving. Does it count if it only had lights and no other decorations? I guess it can be called a "pre-tree", huh? Anyway - I've so much to do just before Thursday. I went to the Pecan Farm today and loaded up. Now I have to shell 10 pounds of cracked pecans. I won't let anyone else help because they don't get all the meat and they get shells in with the good stuff. So... I sat in front of TV tonight shelling away. I need to get more movies from the rental place. Tonight it was the latest Indiana Jones movie. I've never been disappointed with an Indie movie.

Moxie Fab Color Challenge No. 2

If you haven't seen the Moxie Fab blog, you might want to check it out. It's, well - Moxie Fab! They had a color challenge this week that caught my eye. Orange and Purple cards with a gratitude or thanks related theme. This is what I whipped up for the challenge.

Papers are from Paper Salon, Chipboard and Twill from Scenic Route, and stamps from Hampton Art.

Save the Scraps

I love leftovers. I love having leftovers, especially at Thanksgiving - leftover turkey, dressing, and pecan pie. Oh - but wait - we're talking scrappy stuff here, right?

Okay - so I keep my scraps. Especially when it's favorite papers. I can't bear to part with them. These cards are all made with leftovers - bits of scraps of some of my favorites.



Papers are some older Crate paper stripes and Bo Bunny polka dots. Stamps are Birthday Bash from Cornish Heritage Farms Kim Hughes Collection.




I made this scalloped circle card from the Cricut Wild Card cartridge. I love this cart and can't wait to make more. The papers are Pink Paislee. I used the Cuttlebug to emboss the kraft paper label. I used another stamp from Cornish Heritage Farms Kim Hughes Collection (love those stamps!)


Another one using Pink Paislee scraps, Pink Paislee die cut and more embossing using the Cuttlebug.



Last one using Pink Paislee scraps (although I do have a few more scraps left). Rub on is Melissa Frances.



This is one of my favorites... using Basic Grey Urban Prairie (leftover from my Lime Tart Full Tart November Kit). I used Cuttlebug to emboss the paper on the inside of the heart, and placed tiny Queen and Co brads in the flower centers. The glitter is Doodlebug Bumblebee - fun stuff! Jenni Bowlin stickers and Doodlebug ribbon.

I can't believe it's the Thursday before Thanksgiving. I'm ready to get the Christmas decorations out this weekend... if I can talk hubby into going up in the attic and getting everything down. I've never decorated before Turkey day, but I've been listening to Christmas music for 2 weeks already- so I might as well.

Monday Fly By Post..

A quick post today... it's another rushed Monday.

I just wanted to post some more of my November Lime Tart Full Tart projects. I am absolutely in love with the Urban Prairie Basic Grey papers. Just love, love, love it.

The first is a page with my little miss in a grassy field with black eyed susans growing like crazy. I have always loved seeing these along the road.






I just love these little flair buttons from American Crafts. I used it on the card for the sentiment.




This photo was from a kindergarten cap n gown photo shoot I did with my daughter. I liked the ones without the cap much better (do they every make them fit right on little ones?)







In addition to the Full Tart kit, I used a butterfly chipboard from Creative Imaginations (they come in a large sheet). I covered it with the papers.





This card is the card sketch for November. I used the Cuttlebug on the white cardstock. I just had to make this a Christmasy card. :)

Lime Tart Kit Projects

Happy Friday Everyone! It's a bonus Friday because the Lime Tart November Gallery has gone live. That means I can post my projects here. The November Lime Tart "Full Tart" kit includes Basic Grey Urban Prairie and I LOVE THOSE PAPERS! I'm going to have to have more of it. I used every single piece and just have a few scraps left.

This first page is one of my favorites. This is my teenage son. If you are a mom, I know that photo scares you. If you are kid, you want to join him. He's rope-boarding in the neighborhood. One of his friends took this photo. I don't think I could hold the camera still watching him do this...really.





One more layout for today. This one uses some of the KI Transparent sheets. It's scalloped and has polka dots. I left most of the KI visible. Worked great for the "bubbles" theme of the page.





And how about a card. There is a black Sakura glaze pen in the Full Tart kit. It's really awesome. I free-handed the doodles on the border of this card.
