Turning the page

It's almost time to turn that page on the calendar. Pretty soon the pumpkin patch (which really isn't a "patch" because we don't grow pumpkins very well in the south) will be full of pumpkins. My little one loves to go there every year. Fall fun...

We have several birthday's at our home this time of the year also. My son celebrated his a few weeks ago. I created this page using Cosmo Cricket's Hello Sunshine papers. It's such a versatile and fun collection.

And here's a little set that is in the October issue of Crafts 'n Things. This Owl Card and Treat Bag is a great little gift for Halloween. And the owl shapes were made using the Cricut machine and the George Basic Shapes cartridge. The owl's head is an upside down heart (with the point cut off). You can see the ovals, circles and other shapes I used to assemble this little creature.

I used Basic Grey Mellow, some Sassafrass Lass and some SEI papers for this. If you use this idea and make an owl with your cricut - I'd LOVE to see them, so link them here.

I'm off to work on some Lime Tart projects. Stay tuned for sneak peeks! Have a wonderful day and don't forget to turn that calendar page!

Playing with photos part two

I'm still playing with my photos - the ones with the vintage camera. I printed one out and couldn't wait to scrap it. I used Pink Paislee and October Afternoon papers, some Heidi Swapp transparent pieces, and a rub on from Hambly. Sorry for the shadow on the title piece. I think it bugs people that the image is reversed. I think its cool. These colors in the Pink Paislee was perfect for my icee pic.

Guess who I'm going to see in concert tomorrow? Taylor Swift and Rascal Flatts. How lucky can a girl get? Have a great weekend!

In celebration of fall

Well, the calendar says that fall has arrived. Tell that to the weather, okay? Nevertheless... in celebration of the new season, here are a few cards. I didn't get much creating done over the weekend. I was too busy playing with my vintage camera. More on that later. In my last post I used Webster's Pages papers on a heritage layout. I still had my Webster's papers on my work table, so I had to create a few cards with it before putting it away.

Now - about my vintage camera. I picked up an Argoflex Seventy-Five from Ebay and got it this weekend. I recently heard about how you can use your digital camera to take photos through the viewfinder of an older camera. It's called "ttv" which stands for through the viewfinder. Google it if you want more info. There is a ton of information out there. Here are a few of the pics I took.

My favorite is this Icee photo. When I was younger, me and my brother were treated to Icee's at an old country store on our weekend visits to our Grandma's house. It brings back so many memories.

You can see some more of my photos on the Pursuit of Craftyness blog. Well, it's time to get out those fall decorations and get busy around the house. Maybe we can coax the weather into turning down the heat a few digits.

Vintage Photos are fun

I have a hefty assortment of vintage photos. My dad used to love photography, and I'm so thankful he took and kept track of all the slides he took through the years. He recently had them all converted to disc and gave a copy to all the kids. I absolutely love looking at them.

In this layout, I used a photo of one of my older sisters. I love how blonde her hair is. She's the only blonde in our family. Now that I have my daughter - the blonde hair (and blue eyes) is repeating in my family. I can see where she gets it from.

I used Websters Pages papers on this page along with Scenic Route chipboard, American Crafts stickers and Prima flowers.

Yeah - it's Friday! I'm looking forward to kicking back and resting this weekend. I think we'll have sunshine!! Have a great weekend.

Pssst... did you hear about Dream Street??

Psssstt... have you seen the new Design Team call at Dream Street Papers? 4 DT positions and 12 Guest Designer Positions. WOW!! Hop on over for details.

Speaking of Dream Street, this is a recent card I made using Dream Street's Cookies and Cream line along with Menagerie.

This layout was done for Creative Xpress. My niece and her sweet family went on a trip to North Carolina recently. I loved her photos so much, she let me scrap them. I used Basic Grey Archaic and the new Cricut "Graphically Speaking" cartridge. I just LOVE this cartridge! It has the most amazing designs with sooo many possibilities.

I hope you have a wonderful day today, that you get all your tasks accomplished, and that you have time to create something wonderful and new today.

Ephesians 1:17-19
I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit [a] of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better. I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his people, and his incomparably great power for us who believe.

Monday...Monday.

Okay - so I typed "Monday..Monday" and now I have the 60's song going thru my head. LOL

I'm also looking at the calendar and realizing that half of this month has already gone by. With school starting, among other things - I've lost track of time flying by. I think I'm ready to stop and catch my breath.

Well, the Lime Tart gallery for September is up and the projects are amazing. You can see each of the three galleries at the Lime Tart website.

This page was made with the Half Tart Lime Tart kit which features papers from Making Memories "Addie" collection.

My sister and I went to a concert last month, and she insisted on taking photos before we left. I used one of the photos for this page, also done with the Half Tart kit. I just love the Making Memories journaling pages included in this kit.

That's all for now. Have a wonderful "Monday..Monday".

Happy Birthday To...

Happy Birthday to my dear sister, Nancy! (Not that she ever reads this blog, tho.) Anyway - she's my older sister. Old enough that when I was a baby, I slept in her room and she took care of me at night. Isn't that sweet? This is a photo of her holding me at an airport.

And her birthday happens to fall on a day that we will always remember as "9-11". My heart goes out to all of you that have lost someone dear to you 7 years ago.

Well - here we are again looking at the weather reports and it looks like we might have another windy visitor. I feel for my friends in Texas along the coast. Please stay safe.

And last but not least - this week was finally starting to feel like a normal week. I actually made a few new creations. The first one uses Sassafrass Lass papers.

This card uses Melissa Frances Papers and a label from Crafty Secrets.

The last one uses papers from Dream Street.

Well - off to run errands. I need to buy hurricane weather supplies before the stores get crowded (just in case).

A card and a few peekies

Are you inspired by sketches? In my last post I used a sketch on my layout. On this card, I used a sketch by Becky Fleck that was featured in the September CardMaps. If you are a cardmaker, hop on over there and view the new inspiration. Oh, and for this card, the papers are from American Crafts.

As promised, here are a few peeks from the September Half Tart kit from Lime Tart. Check the website around the middle of the month for all the wonderful creations. I always get excited when they go up.

And I almost forgot! My friend, Nancy, gave me the "I Love Your Blog" Award last week. How cool is that? Thanks, Nancy!

So what does that mean? Well, that means that I get to spread the love. Here are the rules:
(1) The winner can put the logo on their blog.
(2) Link the person you received your award from.
(3) Nominate at least 7 other blogs.
(4) Put links of those on yours.
(5) Leave a message on the blogs of the girls or boys you’ve nominated.

Now comes the fun part.. nominating seven other blogs (that haven't already been bestowed this honor recently...tough!) So, here goes:

*Betsy because I enjoy looking at her lovely eye-candy each and every time I visit her blog. I love her inspiring use of bright, vivid colors.
*Donna because she always has the coolest vacation photos.
*Linda because, well, truthfully - I recently found her blog. She always has the coolest techniques.
*Hilary because I always get sooo inspired when I see her projects. And her lovely photos.
*Kris because - well, I love eye-candy!
*Godelieve because she IS the stamping queen.
*Julie because, simply put, she inspired me.

So.... there you have it. Go check out these blogs and have a wonderful day!

Can you feel the wind 'a blowin'?

Well, it's getting cloudy here as Gustav moves inland through the state. We've been watching cable news since 8am this morning, as are lots of other people. What a mess. Hope it continues to weaken.

Check out the Dream Street blog this week. The focus will be on "Back-to-School". Check in to see fresh inspiration from the Design Team. Here's my page, created using the Mod Posy collection. I used Sketch No. 65 from the Got Sketch blog.

And last but not least for today... how about some sneak peeks from the September Lime Tart kit. Remember, there are three kits!

I'll post a sneak of my projects I made wtih the Half Tart later this week. Off to watch more news on the storm. Stay safe!
